Freeman and Ransom try to get Mariner to quit and Tendi gets to experience another officer’s ascension to a higher plane.

Mariner ends up getting promoted, which drives Boimler crazy. Rutherford is helping out the U.S.S. Merced, but he doesn’t get to do much this time.
