Hundreds of millions of people have used Crayola products in the 120+ years of their existence. So many billion crayons have been produced that the numbers are probably pushing a trillion by now.

What would become Crayola started off as a chalk company in New York back in 1885. The operations were soon moved to Pennsylvania and Crayola crayons have been manufactured there ever since.

Their headquarters is just outside of Easton, PA, which is also where the Crayola Experience attraction is located.

Way back in 1996, the 100 billionth Crayola crayon was molded at a ceremony by Mr. Fred Rogers. You know, they guy from the TV show that wore sweaters and changed his shoes all the time. He is actually from Latrobe, PA. If that town sounds familiar, it was the original home of Rolling Rock beer and golf legend Arnold Palmer.

The word \"crayola\" comes from the French craie, which means \"chalk\"... and the suffix \"ola\" (oleaginous)... so it basically means oily chalk.

And they`re all made a few hours from where I live. GO PA!
