There are a lot of neat facts about Walt Disney World. From its incredible size, to the massive underground infrastructure - Disney goes big. Though there is an exception. Nothing at The Magic Kingdom is over 200 feet tall.

Sure, there are some tall buildings at Disney World. Cinderella`s Castle is 189 feet at it`s highest spire.

Both Spaceship Earth at Epcot and Space Mountain are in the 180 foot range.

More modern structures like the Tower of Terror stand at 199 feet, and mountain at Expedition Everest is at a very calculated 99 feet 6 inches.

The reason nothing is over the 200 foot mark has to do with Florida`s laws. Anything over 200 is required to have a navigational beacon for air traffic safety.

The people at Disney are of the opinion that a blinking red light at the top of their famous attractions would ruin the experience for their guests.

I doubt it would be that big of a deal. One of the hotels on premises is admittedly over 250 feet tall and does have the blinking lights. But it`s not technically owned by Disney, so I didn`t count it.

I`ve never actually been to a Disney park, and that honestly doesn`t bother me in the least.
