Sometimes `Trek makes mistakes... and this is one of the most criticized episodes of The Next Generation.
Lt. Tasha Yar is forced to fight, much like the Kal-if-fee episode of TOS or the Ushaan-tor episode of Enterprise. I`d like to think they at least tried on this one.
