Riker is offered command of the U.S.S. Aries and his father comes aboard to brief him on the mission. They haven`t spoken in 15 years, so this doesn`t go too well.

If you like emotionally driven storylines that don`t go anywhere, this is the episode for you. Geordi`s sad, Worf`s sad, Riker`s angry and everybody talks about all this... a lot. The Anbo-jyutsu match and Worf`s painstick party don`t happen until the last few minutes.
