Things About Wellsboro Part 3 - Learn Stuff

It may be a small town, but Wellsboro is the seat of Tioga County. That means we get enjoy a lot of large chain businesses that wouldn`t be here otherwise. Part three of the series.

If you like coffee, you`re in luck. You can get a hot cup o` Joe from either Dunkin` OR Starbucks, and they are only about a block apart. Back in the day, I had to drive a half hour to get to a Dunkin`. Don`t count on a drive-through though, there isn`t really anywhere to put them.

Where I grew up, each small town had ONE pharmacy, and they were locally-owned businesses. Wellsboro has both a CVS, and a large Rite Aid - both carry a lot more than OTC medications and a pharmacy. The latter even has a convenient drive-through. You can get your prescriptions from the local Weis Market as well.

Wellsboro has more lawyers and Realtors than you would typically find in a town with such a small population. Banks are the same way. The large C&N Bank complex is downtown, there`s First Citizens, and NorthWest Bank has two locations down the street from each other. That`s not counting any credit unions.

I have to admit, I`m pretty spoiled. There was a time in my life when I had to drive a decent distance for such amenities.
