Where did Doritos come from? I dunno? Plano Texas? Well, they do now, but that’s not where they
came from originally.

The first Doritos were created and sold at Disneyland in California around 1964, and they were
just like regular tortilla chips.

They had a whole bunch of tortillas laying around, and they were going stale.
Rather than throw them out, they fried them up, threw on some salt, and sold them.

The familiar nacho flavor we know today didn’t come around until 1972.

Cool Ranch came out in 1986 and there are all kinds of flavors now. And Frito Lay makes hundreds of
millions every year from Doritos alone.
