Groundhogs do all kinds of stuff I didn’t know about.

Today I want to talk about groundhogs. You may not call them that, they are also known as woodchucks, or whistle pigs, or land beavers… gotta watch out for those land beavers.

I’m from Pennsylvania, so I’m pretty familiar with groundhogs. They are actually rather interesting rodents, but there are some things about them I didn’t know.

For instance, they can swim. Pretty well. I guess that makes sense because they are kind of like beavers, but I’ve never seen a groundhog in water.

The weirder thing is, at least to me… groundhogs climb trees? Apparently they do, and that’s a normal thing for them. I’ve also never seen a groundhog in a tree… and I literally grew up in the woods.

If you would have asked me yesterday if groundhogs climb trees, I would have said I dunno?
