Star Trek and Stargate are two of the most successful science fiction franchises of all time. With well over 1000 television episodes between them (not to mention movies), it should come as no surprise that many actors have played roles in both universes. Some have had only single appearances, while others played major roles in both franchises. The total list is quite extensive, so let’s check out part three.

Dwight Schultz

Although his character didn’t make it quite as far on Star Trek as Colm Meaney’s Chief Miles O’Brien, Dwight Schultz has become beloved among fans. He played Reginald Barclay five times on The Next Generation, six times on Voyager, and even made it into the feature film First Contact. In 1998 he made it into Stargate canon as The Gamekeeper on the SG-1 episode “The Keeper”.

Rick Worthy

Rick Worthy has been on Star Trek a lot more than you’d think because he is almost always in heavy makeup. He got his start on Deep Space Nine as a Klingon name Kornan in “Soldiers of the Empire”. Appearing on Voyager twice as Crewman Noah Lessing and as both Automated Units on “Prototype”, Worthy is one of a few actors to play two different characters on one show. His most prolific character is that of Xindi Jannar in ten episodes of Enterprise. He even made it into the 1998 movie Insurrection. Worthy is in the Stargate Universe as Jaffa Warrior K’tano on the SG-1 episode “The Warrior”.

Joel Swetow

Joel Swetow was actually on DS9 before he got a role on TNG. He portrayed Cardassian Gul Jasad on the very first episode “Emissary”. The next year in 1994, he was the Yridian Yog on the TNG episode “Firstborn”. Swetow lent his voice to several Star Trek video games over the next several years and eventually played the Andorian Ambassador Thoris on Enterprise in 2005. He makes this list as the SG-1 character First Minister Valis in 2002’s “Shadow Play”.

Brad Greenquist

Like Joel Swetow, Brad Greenquist didn’t do his Star Trek roles in chronological order. He appeared on Voyager first, as Demmas in 1996’s episode “Warlord”. Two years later he was Krit on DS9’s “Who Mourns for Morn?”. He was on Enterprise twice, first as a Rigelian Kidnapper in “Affliction” and then Captain Kahta’n Zshaar in “Dawn”. As far as Stargate goes, Greenquist portrayed Dr. Keffler in 2004 for the single episode “Resurrection”.

Gwynyth Walsh

One of the most iconic female Klingon characters of all time, Gwynyth Walsh portrayed B’Etor Duras in three episodes of The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and the feature film Generations.  Even I didn’t realize this, but she also was Chief Examiner Nimira in the 1997 Voyager episode “Random Thoughts”. In 2002, Walsh was on the SG-1 episode “Cure” as a dual character Kelmaa/Queen Egeria.

Rudolf Martin

Rudolph Martin appeared in one episode each of Enterprise and SG-1. In 2002’s “Two Days and Two Nights”, he played Hoshi’s hookup. Martin was also Anateo on the SG-1 episode “Company of Thieves” in 2006.

Robert Picardo

If you look up “SciFi Legend”, you’ll see a picture of this man. Robert Picardo played The Doctor in 168 episodes of Voyager and also the feature film First Contact. His other ‘Trek credits include Dr. Lewis Zimmerman and the Equinox EMH. You’ll hear his voice on several Star Trek video games as well. One of the only actors to play a major role in two major franchises, he was also Dr. Richard Woolsey in seven episodes of SG-1, 26 episodes of Atlantis, and Stargate Universe.
