Happy Star Trek Day! 1966-2021

55 years of ‘Trek! On air from 1966 until its cancellation in 1969 (studio execs weren’t too bright back then either), Star Trek is still alive and well over 5 decades later. The first episode premiered on September 8th without Scotty or Chekov. Though, as any avid fan knows, The Man Trap is only technically the first episode. The actual pilot was The Cage, which didn’t even feature William Shatner and wouldn’t be published until much later.

Since the original series, Star Trek has spawned soooo much television: The Animated Series (1973), The Next Generation (1987), Deep Space Nine (1993), Voyager (1995), Enterprise (2001), Discovery (2017), (Short Treks), Picard (2020), Lower Decks (2020), and Strange New Worlds (2022). Oh, and 13 feature films so far.

Live Long and Prosper
