As we know, Bajor is still re-building after the decades-long Cardassian occupation. Now there is a species from the Gamma Quadrant that claims Bajor is their Promised Land.

This is obviously an episode that deals with immigration, and is even more poignant than it was 30+ years ago. Should Bajor welcome 3 million people from the Gamma Quadrant while their own people are struggling to survive? Regardless of the current political climate, you`ll probably pick up on that my stance sides with the Bajorans. I feel this way because Sisko and Dax have found them an equally suitable planet on which to settle. We get guest stars from The Trouble with Tribbles, Leland Orser, and Walter Koenig`s son.
