21 Bonus Crew for Faction is weird. Here's Why.

Since Halloween is over, I suppose it is officially "Holiday Season", at least where I live. This will go on until the New Year. Generally speaking, this is the time when STT kind of slows down, most likely because of the holidays, but also in preparation for Convergence Day... to celebrate the game's initial launch which was early January 2016. I am accustomed to this.

What I am not used to is doing a non-rerun Faction Event in mid-November with only 21 Bonus Crew. Do I particularly care? No. But it is worth mentioning. Most Faction Events carry at least a few dozen, if not many hundreds of Bonus Crew. This makes sense because of the way Faction Missions are set up. The reason for this low number is having two of the three Featured Crew having only one representative, and the "Bartender" Bonus Trait giving you only 14, minus your Quarks, Sullivan, and Hwang.

Is this on purpose? I don't know, probably. What it means is that everyone except very experienced Captains are going to have a hard time.

Out of those 21, People Person Quark and Hwang are brand new, so probably won't be maxed for most Captains. On top of that, Bartender Quark and Dabo Girl Leeta are sub-Rare... so aren't worth very much. That leaves 18 viable.

To keep picking... Convergence Day Quark is an annual thing (sometimes... thank goodness I have him immortalized), and Fierce Guinan and Bartender Guinan are Voyage and Gauntlet rewards (respectively...which I also have immortalized)... so not everyone has those. That takes us down to 14 regularly available Crew.

Klingon Quark was released in 2016

Michael Sullivan, Tourist Quark, Wedding Day Quark, Herbert Rossoff were released in 2018

Brother Rom in 2021

For the Legendary:

Martian Quark, Gloria were released in 2018

Stranded Quark, Bartender Tuvok were released in 2019

Tribble Quark was released in 2021

Young Guinan, Cabaret Georgiou were released in 2022

Audrid Quark was released in early 2023

I have the chops to make a run... but is it worth it? Remy IS on the HOT List (for now). Do I really want a Remy... I don't care that much. I'll probably burn my shuttles hot for four days just to make a point, but this is not not for the average Captain. On the other hand, I know the Convergence Day stuff is coming in about six weeks, and I'd rather save my vast inventory for that.
