Star Trek & Stargate: JOHN de LANCIE
John de Lancie would bring us the omnipotent trickster Q on Star Trek a total of twenty-two times from the 1980’s to the 2020’s. We first saw him in the TNG premier Encounter at Farpoint and the ‘Trek Universe would never be the same. Q would show up on the Enterprise-D eight times, once on Deep Space Nine, and three times on Voyager. Fast-forward nearly twenty years and we’ll see Q again, animated on Lower Decks and nine appearances on Picard.
With Richard Dean Anderson, de Lancie would portray antagonist Colonel Frank Simmons for five episodes of SG-1. (he was also on MacGyver!). Like Robert Picardo, John de Lancie is also from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
