Picard, Troi, Geordi, and Data return from a conference in a runabout to find the Enterprise locked in battle with a Romulan Warbird and the two ships seem to be frozen in time.
This episode borrows heavily from previous installments Cause and Effect and The Next Phase, but it’s a lot of fun. We get to see the Enterprise completely explode for the third time, a runabout from DS9, and those transporter armbands from The Best of Both Worlds, Part II. How did the Enterprise come across a Romulan Warbird from another space-time continuum inside Federation territory? No one knows.
