Tamlyn Tomita actually appeared on Stargate: Atlantis over a decade before she joined the ‘Trek Universe. She was Chinese Ambassador (Tomita is from Japan) Shen Xiaoyi for two episodes.
Once Star Trek: Picard came along, Tomita portrayed baddie Commodore Oh for six episodes in 2020. I say “baddie” because although Oh was a Starfleet Officer, she was also a Vulcan/Romulan hybrid loyal to the Zhat Vash and a General in the Tal Shiar.
