Venus Fly Traps Aren’t Exotic i dunno? 240522

They might eat meat, but not from the jungle.

I’ve talked about this elsewhere, but I find it interesting. When you think of Venus Fly Traps, you
might think of some exotic jungle location, perhaps South America or the Congo.

Makes sense, seems like a plant that you’d find in a hostile environment. Truth is, Venus Fly Traps are
only native to one place and it’s not that exotic. The Carolinas.

Of course, Native Americans knew about these plants forever, but they didn’t make into European records
until 1768. Venus Fly Traps are way too small to be a problem to humans, but I always figured a
carnivorous plant must be from the jungle.
