Star Trek & Stargate: BRIAN MARKINSON

I don’t know if Brian Markinson gets enough credit. It looks like his career is mostly TV and small roles in film. I think he’s a pretty great actor. His first ‘Trek appearance was as Vorin in the seventh season TNG episode Homeward (with Paul Sorvino as Worf’s brother). He was on Voyager as Lt. Pete Durst twice and then again as the Vidiian Solan in Faces. He made a single appearance on DS9 as Elias Giger – a guy who was convinced people eventually get old and die because our cells get “bored”.

On SG-1 he played a cloned…um not android, but a programmed character… named Lotan. The situation was Lotan was created to act as liaison between the Gadmeer and Enkaran peoples. The former was taking over the latter’s planet and terraforming it to fit their needs – which would eradicate the Enkarans. It was set up kind-of, sort-of like the Sheliak incident on TNG.
